5k Transportation to Begin: Due to limited parking at Dinosaur Caves Park, 5k runners and spectators are encouraged to park at Pismo City Hall - 760 Mattie Road, Pismo Beach. SLO Safe Ride buses will run a loop from Pismo City Hall to Dinosaur Caves Park (race start) from 6:00am - 7:15am.

The City to the Sea half marathon course is a point-to-point race that starts in downtown San Luis Obispo (intersection of Higuera and Court Street - 995 Higuera Street San Luis Obispo will take you right there). The course winds through the city, takes runners along scenic backroads, and ends alongside the Pacific Ocean in the coastal community of Pismo Beach at the beloved Dinosaur Caves Park.
The half marathon course has five aid stations (miles: 2, 5, 7, 10 & 12), all of which will have water and restrooms. Three of these will have FLUID sports drink.
The half marathon course will be open for three and a half hours. All walkers and runners must finish within the three and a half hours cutoff time. Walkers are welcome to begin the race before 7:00am start time. No baby joggers, strollers, skates, or pets are allowed on the course. Wheelchair athletes are welcome.
HALF MARATHON ROUTE
5K ROUTE
The 5k course (3.1 miles) is out-and-back and begins and ends in Pismo Beach at Dinosaur Caves Park, near the finish expo for the half marathon. The scenic course winds through the beautiful neighborhoods of Shell Beach with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. There is one challenging climb on the otherwise gentle course.
There is one water-only aid station on the course that marks the end of both mile one and mile two.
No pets are allowed, but joggers/strollers will be permitted. We ask that joggers and strollers give right of way to runners by starting at the back of the race. All 5k participants must finish within 1 hour of the race start.
